It is said that The Tower got its name from the two nearby towers, Perrott's Folly and the Waterworks tower.
During his childhood J.R.R. Tolkien lived in the shadow of the two towers, and it is thought that these may have been his inspiration for the towers within his books.
After many years as one of Birmingham's TOP NIGHTSPOTS The Tower closed its doors in December 2005. On the last night the line up included Dave Berry & the Cruisers, Marmalade, The Fortunes and The Searchers.
The Tower was to redeveloped, but fortunately for Birmingham it has been saved from demolition by Liam O'Connor who runs a number of pubs in and around Birmingham, including The Kerryman in Digbeth.
It reopened its Doors on April 3rd 2008 with a line up of Mike Penders Searchers, The Mersey Beats and The Cufflinks.
The Tower is the perfect venue for any size of event or party.
